Madhuri Singh hails from Dehradun and comes from a defence background, which has shaped her discipline, resilience, and strong value system. After marrying into a Bihar family, she deeply embraced Bihar’s rich culture—right from Chhath Puja to its authentic local cuisine.
While travelling frequently for work, Madhuri often found herself missing the simple, healthy traditional snacks she had grown fond of, especially Bhuja. During the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, this longing turned into an idea—to revive and reintroduce Bihar’s traditional snacks in a modern, hygienic, and scalable form.
Her journey is driven by one belief: Traditional food deserves a global platform.

Shashi Kant Kumar

THE HEAD OF OPERATIONS & CO-FOUNDER

Hailing from the historic land of Chhapra, Bihar, Shashi Kant Kumar comes from a humble farming background. Growing up in a farmer’s family, he developed an innate understanding of grains, quality soil, and the true taste of pure food from a very young age.
Academically, Shashi completed his B.Sc (Science Graduate) in 2023, followed by a technical specialization with an Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety. Currently, he applies this discipline in the corporate world as a Safety Supervisor. His professional training has taught him that whether it is a construction site or the human body—safety standards cannot be compromised.

While working away from home, Shashi deeply missed the authentic, wholesome ‘Bhuja’ (traditional snacks) of Bihar. Observing the market flooded with unhygienic and processed junk food, his instincts as a Safety Expert kicked in. He constantly questioned, “Is this food actually safe for our health?”
This question led to the birth of ‘Dehati Babu’. As the Head of Operations, he brings a unique fusion to the brand: the trust of a farmer’s son who understands raw materials, and the strict discipline of a Safety Supervisor who ensures hygiene. His mission is to deliver the traditional taste of Bihar with modern safety standards.
His philosophy is simple:

“I inherited the knowledge of grains from the farm, and learned the discipline of safety from my profession. ‘Dehati Babu’ is not just a snack; it is a promise of Purity and Safety.”
